We believe all pets deserve the best possible care. That’s why, in addition to excellent conventional veterinary medicine, we offer alternative veterinary medicine services for all pets.

Dr. Kathy Wilf-Liez has considerable experience in holistic veterinary medicine and utilizes a wide range of alternative therapies and modalties for diagnosis and treatment for some patients. These may include:

  • Acupuncture/Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine
  • Homeopathy
  • Western Herbal Medicine
  • Nutritional Support
  • Nutritional Consultation

For some pets, combining the advantages conventional Western medicine with alternative therapies is most appropriate.

What is holistic veterinary medicine?
Holistic medicine uses techniques that are gentle, minimally invasive and which takes into account all aspects of a pet’s lifestyle, including, environment, temperament and behavior, in addition to its natural needs. Holistic veterinary care means considering these factors along with the pet’s disease pattern, to develop the best treatment from a wide range of therapies for healing.

Finding and treating the root cause of the disease is the goal, so that a pet’s health can be restored.

In chronic health conditions, for example, herbal remedies and/or acupuncture combined with nutritional changes may be of considerable benefit.

In acute situations, the best treatment may involve a combination of conventional western medicine, surgery and drug therapy with complementary alternative techniques.

At Rothman Animal Hospital, our patients have access to the most promising and proven alternative therapies, in conjunction with traditional veterinary care.
