How Often Does My Pet Need To Be Seen By My Vet?

REMEMBER animals age at a much faster rate than humans. As a result, some age related diseases (i.e.diabetes, kidney disease) can develop at a relatively early age in dogs and cats (2-4 years of age). Since vaccinations are now lasting longer than previously thought, we at Rothman Animal Hospital can now focus even more on preventative medicine. With this in mind, we recommend twice a year examinations in hopes of catching some of these problems earlier and therefore start treatment sooner. Early screening, blood tests, x-rays, EKG’s can uncover problems earlier, which can be treated more effectively. Stool checks ever 6 months can pick up internal parasite which may be missed on a once a year basis. So keep your pet happier, healthier and living longer by visiting us every 6 months.

HOW ABOUT EXOTIC PETS- BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS, RODENTS, ETC?

We at Rothman Animal Hospital have always recommended twice a year examinations for these pets since they are very good at masking disease even better than dogs and cats. So schedule your 6month appointment today.
