 Kathy Wilf-Liez, VMD
When Kathy Liez was 14 years old, she was an open water certified scuba diver. By the time she graduated from Penn State in 1988, with a degree in Animal Bioscience and a minor Wildlife Science, she was already an Emergency Medical Technician.
Her love of nature, wildlife and medicine naturally culminated in a career as a veterinarian. "There was never any question I would become a veterinarian. I always knew," she said.
She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, and began working at Rothman Animal Hospital almost immediately.
With a special interest in Avian/Exotic medicine, Dr. Wilf-Liez enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and treating so many species.
She also has considerable experience in holistic veterinary medicine, and utilizes a wide range of modalties to diagnose and treat her patients. A lifelong learner, Dr. Wilf-Liez has taken numerous courses in homeopathy, herbal medicine, and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, including acupuncture training at the Chi Institute in Gainesville, Florida.
She is a member of the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, the Association of Amphibian and Reptilian Veterinarians, the Veterinary Botanical Association and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association.
As the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association's liaison to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, she helps organize educational events for veterinary students interested in holistic veterinary care.
She is the proud mom of Sarah, 6, and Beth, 10, who both love animals and enjoy helping their mom whenever they can.
